Business is going well, really well, and you’re starting to feel like it’s time to grow your agency. But where do you start?
Every day we work with recruitment agencies across various industries and we’ve gained so much knowledge from each and every one of them. Here are our top tips for growing your recruitment agency:
1) Define Your Brand
You need to build a strong brand in order to really find your place in the market. This doesn’t just include the standard marketing tasks you might think of, like your logo and company name. You need to think about the voice and messages you use to communicate with your audience.
For example if you specialise in white collar manufacturing roles then think about the language you need to use to attract those clients and candidates. What kind of messages would they really respond to?
Focusing on your industry and keeping a close eye on your competition can really help you find your place and differentiate yourself in a crowded market.
2) Set Goals
If you were a new start up then your initial goal may have just been to find roles and stay in business, however as you grow it’s time to really focus on setting ambitious goals for your agency.
Setting SMART goals for growth can really help take your recruitment agency to the next level. It might simply be revenue targets, taking on new staff or even just cutting costs in certain areas. It might be to grow your business with certain clients or to make the move in to blue collar recruitment if you currently specialise in white collar.
A business mentor can also be useful to help you grow. Choose someone experienced in your sector or industry to help you drive your business in the right direction and keep you on track.
3) Get Inspired
Go and see what everyone else is doing! Spend some time online exploring the competition, and not just those in your industry. See how they’re communicating with their audience, how they advertise jobs and the different areas they operate in.
Get out of the office and go and see your clients, it’s a great chance to build the relationship while also getting a better understanding of how they work.
Try to reconnect with the you that started this business to help you understand what you love about the industry. This passion can help you find ways to grow and expand.
4) Make an Investment
It’s the age old advice, you have to speculate to accumulate! It’s still true, making a solid investment can be just what you need to help your business to grow.
It could be a software investment, as there are so many different softwares and technologies that can help recruiters expand their business.
Of course it could be hiring people or finally leaving your spare room for business premises! They all require investment but it could be the boost your business needs.
5) Outsource Business Tasks
It might be time to stop doing everything yourself and outsource some of your business services. You don’t need to handle all your marketing for example, you can outsource your social media work or other marketing functions.
Here at New Millennia we can handle all your back office administrative duties, such as payroll and invoicing. This frees up your time to focus on developing new business, and allows you to focus on growing your business!
